Late June all the way to August is pretty stinkin' hot around here.(I'm sure I don't know what I'm saying, cause I live up north, but whatever)
So I'm gonna give you some of my very most secret recipes to my own, made up, refreshing, iced drinks.
SUMMER SLUSHIE:
( I know I spelt slushy wrong, but its my own recipe and I can name it HOWEVER I want. plus, ie looks better that y.)
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/2 c. grape fruit juice
2 tbsp. honey
1/4 c. lemon juice
3 c. ginger ale
INSRUCTIONS:
step 1. mix all ingredients thoroughly together. (make sure the honey dissolved and isn't sitting at the bottom)
step 2. pour into ice cube trays.
step 3. freeze completely
step 4. put about 5 cubes (depending on the size of cubes and how big of a slushy you want) in a magic bullet or blender
step 5. pour into a glass cup and enjoy!
OPTIONAL:
if you don't have any grape fruit juice or you don't like it, use orange juice instead.
ICED COFFEE:
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 c. coffee
1/8 c. heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. caramel extract
1/2 tsp stevia or truvia
INSTRUCTIONS:
step 1. mix all ingredients thoroughly together with a straw in a 1 pint heat bearable mason jar
( I like to use these jars cause they can handle the heat and the cold, and they are adorable)
step 2. set in fridge for 3-6 hours
(I like to make it ahead if time, so then I don't dilute it out with a zillion ice cubes. I like to taste the coffee. espessially since mom and dad buy it raw and organic and roast it their selves (with dad's homemade roaster)
step 3. add four ice cubes
NOTE:
I almost didn't put this recipe on here, because EVERYONE knows how to make iced coffee. but caramel extract is my secret ingredient that makes ALL the difference. you just have to try it.
(NOTE: your probably gonna have to go to a grocery store or amazon to buy some of these ingredients. but this summer drink is sooo good and refreshing, its totally worth spending your money on.)
INGREDIENTS:
1 packet of oolong tea
2 c. hot water
7-8 drops stevia berry sweetener
2 tsp. chia seeds (this is what makes the drink so fun. the seeds start to gel up around the outside, but if you bite them they are crunchy and don't taste like anything.
INSTRUCTIONS:
step 1. steep the tea with the water in a 1 pint heat bearable mason jar for about 5 minutes
step 2. remove tea bag
step 3. add the berry drops and chia seeds
step 4. set in fridge for about 5 hours
step 5. add 3-4 ice cubes, add a straw and enjoy!
ICED CHAI LATTE
(this recipe is actually kinda Lindy's, but I altered it to my own likings.)
1 packet of chai tea
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp caramel extract
1 tsp. stevia
1/8 c. cream
1/4 c. whipped cream or cool whip
cinnamon and sugar
INSTRUCTIONS:
step 1. steep the tea bag with the hot water in a 1 pint heat bearable mason jar for 3 minutes
step 2. remove tea bag
step 3. add the vanilla, caramel extract, cream and stevia
step 4. set in fridge for 5 hours
step 5. add the whipped cream to the top
step 6. sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the top

Great post! It's always good to have cold drinks ready on a hot day! Sometimes we will make maple lemon lemonade! Simple ingredients, just put lemon juice over crushed ice and drizzle maple syrup over it! Eat it like that or wait till it melts into lemonade! :)

oh my! I am for surely going to try that today!!
DeleteThey look good! Especially the iced coffee! What's oolong tea like?
ReplyDeleteYeah the one I actually make the most is the iced coffee. its sooo good and has a lot of flavor.
Deleteoolong tea? well.... its kind of strong, and doesn't really have that much of a flavor. it tastes sorta like coffee. you can steep it many times in scalding hot water and it can still take it. I don't really know how to explain it. but you should definitely try a sample. It's really good for you too.
