Meet my horses:
Liffey is my 2 yo rose gray quarter horse filly. I Got her May 2019 and did a bunch of groundwork with her last fall. I started riding her this spring and I’ve already put at least 70 rides on her. We get along so well, she’s so eager to please and athletic and I love her๐ I am planning to finish her training g and then move on to cattle work.
Chorus is my 5 yo chestnut quarter horse mare. I got her when I was nine and I sort of learned about training on her. She is a lot of fun and I love using her with cattle. She absolutely loves racing, and so do I which makes us a good fit!
Koa is my 1 yo gray filly. I got her last month and started working with her before she got cut in some barbed wire. She got up into a pasture that she has never been in before, and I’m guessing she ran into the fence without knowing it was there. So now I am working on helping her heal, I’ve researched a lot on wound care and she is doing a lot better! It has been almost three weeks and am seeing a big change๐ it was awful at first when I wasn’t sure if she was going to make it but she’s doing much better!

July 29th:
update on Koa.... I don’t wanna make y’all depressed but I turned my filly back out to the pasture cuz things were doing so good and I wanted her to get on some grass, so she went out with the other horses and was with them for abt a week before she got chased into the fence and tore down 100 + ft of barbed wire. So she basically tore her wounds open again. And un-did allll my work. Like months of caring for her and treating her wounds ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญit’s sad but I think she’s gonna make it. I mean what is a couple more scratches when she healed up the other ones like nothing? Jk. I’m gonna do a couple pictures of it, you can scroll on past super fast if you don’t wanna see any of it. ;)
^k this is RIGHT before I turned her out the the pasture. It looked so good, wouldn’t you agree?? ^
It’s sooooo bad :(:(:(:( and sorry abt the lighting I know it’s not the best...
So koa was gonna be my project this fall, but it doesn’t look like she’ll be healed by then anymore. (This’ll take a couple months to recover from) so I’m thinking of buying a couple weanlings (6 month olds) to work on. And also some ppl asked me to train a 5 yr old for them, but we'll see what happens with that. AND I’m helping my bro’s each train a horse. And I’m helping a girl w/ dislexia work with a sorrel yearling filly (for therapy). Haha so yeah I keep very busy with horses. Sometimes I don’t get them all worked in a day and that makes me rly sad. But whatever. Lol
Alsooo, I have a pup (an eighteen mo “pup”) she is a border collie / red heeler. I have so much fun with her. I just wanted a smallish dog that was playful and smart that I could go on adventures with! Asilah is exactly that. And she does the STRANGEST things. Haha she’s hilarious. I was worried at first when I got her that she was going to get driven over, by the way she was acting, but she got cured of that bc she accidentally got driven over by my dads car. Yuppp that fixed her. ๐ it was unbelievable but she didn’t even break anything which was a plus.
This was the day I got her. Jun 22 2019.
Look at how she is laying xD
Lol we were just taking a picture and she tried to kiss me... vigorously.
I love it Lexi!

Thank you!! It already needs some updates though๐
DeleteOH NO. That cut on her leg looks rough. (One of my horses went over a piece of old fence in a wooden pasture and cut up her hind leg. And then one of the geldings went through some barbed wire later. The gelding just had a couple light cuts which healed up in about a month, but the mare was in her stall for almost two months just to keep her from moving and another three months in bandages...)
ReplyDeleteBUT ALL OF YOUR HORSES ARE SO PRETTY! Good luck with the two year old and the yearling!
Awww thnxs yes it was doing so good until I turned her back out, abt a week ago she opened it up again ๐ญ๐ญ I’ll have to do an update on that.
DeleteYou sound like a super fun girl:)
